The Parish Council

The Parish Council is the level of local government in North Warwickshire nearest to the people of Baxterley.  The old Parishes were formed at a time when there was little difference to the local people between the Church and the State.  A Parish like Baxterley usually formed around a village or other small community and used to be centered around the Parish Church.

In the late 1800s Church and State separated and the same area is now represented by Baxterley Parish Council as part of the Local Authority structure reporting to North Warwickshire Borough Council who in turn report to Warwickshire County Council.

Parish Councils have many powers and some duties.
